Bongbong Marcos checks construction of Clark airport access road

MANILA, Philippines — The government is committed to building world-class infrastructure, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. pledged on Wednesday as he inspected the Airport-New Clark City Access Road (ANAR) in Pampanga.

The road is set to be accessible to the public by July.

“Projects such as this all convey one message to prospective investors: It conveys the message that we are committed to building world-class infrastructure that can host a business in a high-growth area,” Marcos said in his speech.

According to the (BCDA), ANAR has six lanes and spans 19.81 kilometers.

The P 8.28 billion project is meant to cut travel time to New Clark City from other parts of the complex from one hour to 20 minutes.

Marcos crossed the 900-meter Sacobia Bridge, which is a part of ANAR. The bridge has dedicated bike lanes, pedestrian lanes, and linear parks.

With the president during the inspection were BCDA Chair Delfin Lorenzana, Government Service Insurance System President Wick Veloso, Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista, and Sen. Mark Villar.

“The ANAR will unravel the immense potential of Clark, turning this 32,000-hectare corridor into a new economic epicenter that promises inclusive and sustainable growth for all,” Lorenzana said in a statement.
