Bohol solon calls for demolition of Chocolate Hills resort
MANILA, Philippines — Bohol 3rd District Rep. Alexie Tutor on Wednesday called for the demolition of a resort around the province’s famed Chocolate Hills, which is a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization heritage geopark.
“That Captain’s Peak Resort should not have been allowed to be built there in the first place. It should be demolished and the construction site should be restored, with costs borne by the owners of that resort. But before these can happen, we have to follow due process,” said Tutor in a statement.
The solon urged for the intervention of Environment Secretary Maria Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga.
