5 new directors named to CHEd

The Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) announced the appointment of five new directors on Tuesday.

They were Jimmy Catanes, Lora Yusi, Mary Sylvette Gunigundo, lawyer Marco Cicero Domingo and Rody Garcia.

CHEd chair Prospero de Vera III welcomed their addition to the agency, hailing their “impressive academic credentials and expertise that [would] help CHEd implement its mandates and priorities under the Marcos administration.”

FEATURED STORIES

Gunigundo served as an officer in charge for various CHEd offices, while Catanes used to be the director for research, planning, and development at the Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation in San Carlos City, Pangasinan.

Yusi has been officer in charge of CHEd’s Central Luzon office since 2019, while Garcia was formerly acting CHEd regional director in the Zamboanga Peninsula.

Domingo, on the other hand, has been with the CHEd national office since 2014 as the investigation and enforcement division chief for its legal and legislative service. —DEMPSEY REYES
