PH must keep up with evolution of AI — Marcos
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. said that the Philippines must act fast to keep up with the evolution of artificial intelligence (AI).
According to the Palace statement on Wednesday, Marcos was asked during the World Economic Forum roundtable in Malacañan Palace how in the Philippines’ economic growth.
“I think I’m seeing this now with AI where we’re still trying to figure out. We know how powerful it is, and we know how powerful it is going to be even more so than it is now. We can see the necessity for AI because there are many things that we’re doing is becoming more complicated,” said Marcos.
“We have to act very swiftly to be able to adjust to whatever occurrences there are. But again, I think, I need not explain how the AI can also work against you. But we must, but it is very clear understanding on our part that we must be part of that,” said Marcos.
The President said when he speaks to potential investors in the Philippines, he asks if there will be a transfer of technology together with a training of Filipino workers.

They must have that skill set so as they will be able to compete, and to find the good positions wherever it is that they see opportunities,” said Marcos.
