PCG: Chinese vessel tried to block scientists in WPS

The Philippine Coast Guard says a Chinese vessel conducted “dangerous maneuvers” as it attempted to block Filipino scientists from reaching a reef in the West Philippine Sea.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. vowed Friday that former lawmaker Arnolfo Teves Jr. will face justice in the Philippines.

In a post on X, Marcos commended the arrest of Teves, who was  while playing at a golf driving range in the capital, Dili of Timor Leste, where he had sought asylum.

The recent  is an “example” of how former President Rodrigo Duterte would be nabbed should the International Criminal Court (ICC) issue an order for it, former Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV said in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday.

In a tweet on Friday, Trillanes said this would be the case “if the ICC warrant is also passed through Interpol.”

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Friday declared the official start of the summer season as the amihan, or northeast monsoon, season ends.

Pagasa chief Dr. Nathaniel Servando made the announcement in a press conference.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced that the number coding scheme in Metro Manila will be suspended on March 28 and March 29.

“We have number coding suspension on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday,” said MMDA chief Romando Artes during a press conference in Camp Crame.
