UP College of Law wins world鈥檚 largest and oldest moot court event

MANILA, Philippines 鈥 The University of the Philippines (UP) College of Law bagged the title of World Champions at the 2024 Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition, it announced on Sunday.

In a post on Facebook, UP College of Law said that its team鈥檚 victory comes nearly three decades after their last triumph in the same competition held in Washington D.C. in the United States.

Members of the winning team from UP are Mary Regine Dadole, Pauline De Leon, Pauline Samantha Sagayo, Chinzen Viernes, and Ignacio Lorenzo Villareal, and they were coached by Professor Marianne Vitug and advised by Professor Rommel Casis.

In a separate post on its website, UP College of Law said that the 鈥淛essup鈥 is the world鈥檚 largest and oldest moot court competition for law students, with participants from over 600 law schools in 100 countries and jurisdictions.
