Marcos turns over P150M for VMMC鈥檚 new MRI machine

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., on the Day of Valor, visited the Renal Dialysis Center of the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) and turned over P150 million for the center's Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine.

MANILA, Philippines 鈥 President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., on the Day of Valor, visited the Renal Dialysis Center of the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) and turned over P150 million for the center鈥檚 Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine.

According to the Palace, the VMMC鈥檚 sole MRI machine, acquired more than a decade ago in 2011, broke down last year.

Marcos eyeing the establishment of over 100 more special medical care facilities by 2028

鈥淓xcited for the new MRI at VMMC, ensuring the delivery of expert care for our veterans and their families,鈥 said Marcos in a Facebook post.

Located in Quezon City, the VMMC serves war veterans and retired personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. It has nine doctors and 27 nurses.

The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said that the budget for the MRI came from the President鈥檚 Social Fund.

鈥淰MMC鈥檚 dialysis center caters to more than 200 patients composed of World War II veterans and retired military personnel and their dependents, providing service and medicines free of charge,鈥 said the PCO.
