Heat index for April 14: Eight areas to hit 42° to 43° C

MANILA, Philippines — Eight areas in the country may see dangerous levels of heat on Sunday, the state weather bureau said on Saturday.

According to the forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the areas below will have temperatures of up to 42 to 43 degrees Celsius:

  • Dagupan City, Pangasinan – 42 degrees Celsius
  • Aparri, Cagayan – 42 degrees Celsius
  • Tuguegarao, Cagayan – 42 degrees Celsius
  • Puerto Princesa City, Palawan – 43 degrees Celsius
  • Aborlan, Palawan – 43 degrees Celsius
  • Dumangas, Iloilo – 42 degrees Celsius
  • Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur – 42 degrees Celsius
  • Cotabato City, Maguindanao – 42 degrees Celsius

The Pagasa’s heat index classification system places areas with indices of 42 to 51 degrees Celsius in the “danger” category.
