MANILA, Philippines 鈥 The Philippine National Police (PNP) has no information on whether or not the聽 International Criminal Court (ICC) has talked to around regarding the crimes against humanity complaints against former president Rodrigo Duterte, as claimed by former Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV.

The PNP spokesperson, Col. Jean Fajardo, said that she personally asked the directorates of the police organization regarding Trillanes鈥 revelation, but they had no knowledge or information on the matter.

鈥淲hen the news broke out, I personally asked our relevant directorates about this, but they have no information on the alleged PNP personnel coordinating with the ICC,鈥 Fajardo said in Filipino.

On Wednesday, Trillanes made the revelation on X (formerly Twitter), claiming to have received 鈥渉ighly credible information鈥 that have already talked to the PNP officials accused of involvement in Duterte鈥檚 drug war.

He likewise noted that investigators can now label the officials as co-suspects if they would not cooperate in the probe.

Fajardo said they were now investigating where Trillanes got the information.

She added that PNP personnel or officials should always consult their direct supervisors and higher authorities before releasing statements or engaging in activities that contradict the organization鈥檚 stance.

Although she did not specify, Fajardo said those who violate or refuse to follow this chain of command may face sanctions.
