Low chance of tropical cyclone this week — Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — There is a low probability of tropical cyclones entering the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) this week, the state weather bureau said on Monday.
However, rain showers are likely in several parts of the country, according to Obet Badrina, weather specialist of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

“Sa kasalukuyan, wala tayong mino-monitor na anumang low pressure area sa loob o labas ng Philippine area of responsibility,” Badrina said.
(At present, we have not monitored any low-pressure area inside or outside the Philippine area of responsibility.)

Pagasa previously said one or two storms may enter or form within the PAR for this month.
Meanwhile, Badrina said easterlies, or the warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean, will bring thunderstorms and isolated rain showers in some parts of the country.
“Malaki ang tiyansa ng thunderstorm partikular sa may silangang bahagi ng Luzon,” Badrina said.
(There is a big chance of thunderstorms, particularly in the eastern section of Luzon.)
“Sa bahagi ng Mindanao, may namataan tayo na pag-ulan partikular na sa bahagi ng Zamboanga na makakaranas pa din po ng isolated rain showers and thunderstorms,” he continued.
(In Mindanao, we have spotted rains, particularly in Zamboanga, which will experience isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.)
