MANILA, Philippines — Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva confirmed a change of Leadership in the Senate.
“Agenda for today, change of leadership,” Villanueva said in a screenshot of his Viber message to fellow senators which he shared with the Senate media on Monday, May 20.
“Thank you guys for your trust and confidence. God bless our beloved Senate,” he added.

In the same thread, the senator indicated that he would be leaving his post.
“Signing off as your Majority Leader,” he said.
Senator Francis Escudero is also set to replace Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri, according to multiple sources in the Senate.
