MANILA, Philippines 鈥 President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has reappointed Hans Leo Cacdac as ad interim chief of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).

The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said in a statement Saturday that Cacdac鈥檚 reappointment was indicated in a list of presidential appointees released by Malaca帽ang on Friday, March 24.

According to the PCO, Cacdac鈥檚 reappointment showed Marcos鈥 鈥渃ontinued trust and confidence in the official.鈥

The Commission on Appointments has bypassed the confirmation of Cacdac as migrant workers鈥 secretary following SAGIP Party-list Rep. Rodante Marcoleta鈥檚 objection to his presidential appointment.

Marcos designated Cacdac as ad interim chief of the DMW in April, or seven months after he was named officer-in-charge (OIC) of the department in September 2023.

His appointment as DMW OIC happened after former secretary Susan Ople died in August last year.
