MANILA, Philippines — Presidential anti-poverty czar and disbarred lawyer Larry Gadon—recently found guilty of perjury—will headline his daytime live show on People’s Television (PTV).

Gadon has recently garnered controversy over his comments about downplaying hardships in life and being fined P150,000 by the Supreme Court (SC).

“Itong programang ito, “Larry Gadon Live”, ay magtatalakay sa mga ginagawa ng gobyerno, ng ating administrasyon. Ang ating mga accomplishments at ipapaliwanag namin dito ang issues at hot topics, mga trending topics,” said Gadon at the Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon public briefing.

Gadon also said that there would also be entertainment and that he would be singing alongside his guests.

“Para medyo masaya naman at kami ay, aking pipilitin ang mga guest ko kumanta at ako rin ay kakanta,” said Gadon.

(So that it could be fun, I will force my guests to sing, and I will also sing.)

When asked, however, if there would be a portion for public assistance, Gadon said there was no time.

“Naisip na rin naman yan, kaya lang kulang ang oras para magkaroon kami ng mga, yung tinatawag natin na public service or public assistance,” said Gadon.

(We thought of that, but we are short of time to have what you call public service or public assistance.)

According to Gadon, the idea was discussed with Presidential Communications Office Secretary Cheloy Garafil and Usec. Cesar Chavez to help communicate what President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s government has been doing.

Gadon promised a clear explanation of what the government agencies are doing. The first episode will air on Wednesday, May 29, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on PTV.

However, the SC found Gadon guilty of gross misconduct after committing perjury, adding that he had made accusations based on hearsay.

Gadon was also disbarred in 2023 for profane and misogynistic remarks against veteran reporter Raissa Robles.
