MRT-7 will be operational before the end of next year, says DOTr
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Transportation (DOTr) said on Tuesday that some portions of the Metro Rail Transit Line-7 (MRT-7) is expected to be operational by the fourth quarter of next year.
According to DOTr Assistant Secretary Jorjette Aquino, the first twelve stations are located in Quezon City.
“Inaasahan po natin na magiging operational ang first 12 stations by end of 2025,” Aquino said in a press briefing.
(We expect that the first 12 stations will be operational by the end of 2025.)

Meanwhile, Aquino said that the last two railway stations, Tala and Araneta, are expected to operate by 2026.
“Ine-expect po natin na ‘yong dalawa pa na mga istasyon, which is Station 13 and 14, ay magiging operational one year after,” she noted.
(We expect the two other stations, Stations 13 and 14, will be operational one year later.)

The DOTr added that the MRT-7’s completion progress is at 69.7 percent, and is expected to serve around 530,000 passengers during its first year.
The construction of the 22.8-kilometer railway project began in 2016.
