LPA outside PAR may bring rain shower in northern Luzon Wednesday

The trough of a low pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine area of responsibility will bring rain over Northern Luzon on Wednesday, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

MANILA, Philippines — The trough of a low pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine area of responsibility may bring rain over northern Luzon on Wednesday, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

According to Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja, high chances of overcast skies and rain may occur due to the LPA‘s trough in Cagayan, Isabela, Batanes, Aurora, Apayao, Kalinga, Abra and Ilocos Norte.

“Makulimlim na panahon pa rin ang iiral diyan bukas at aasahan pa rin po ang kalat kalat na pagulan at thunderstorms kaya magingat sa posibleng pagbaha at pagguho ng lupa,” he said in Pagasa’s latest forecast on Tuesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, rain due to localized thunderstorms may also occur in the rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila.

The effects of the southwest monsoon, locally known as the habagat, are then expected to be felt in Mimaropa and Palawan.

Relatively fair weather is then forecast over Visayas and the eastern portions of Mindanao with chances of rain due to thunderstorms.

In western Mindanao, specifically,  Zamboanga Peninsula and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao, the effects of habagat may also be felt.

Pagasa said the temperature range in key cities or areas across the country for Wednesday will be:

  • Metro Manila: 25 to 33 degrees Celsius
  • Baguio City: 17 to 24 degrees Celsius
  • Laoag City: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Tuguegarao: 26 to 34 degrees Celsius
  • Legazpi City: 26 to 33 degrees Celsius
  • Puerto Princesa City: 27 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Tagaytay: 23 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Kalayaan Islands: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Iloilo City: 27 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Cebu: 28 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Tacloban City: 27 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Cagayan De Oro City: 26 to 33 degrees Celsius
  • Zamboanga City: 25 to 34 degrees Celsius
  • Davao City: 26 to 33 degrees Celsius

No gale warning is also raised with only slight to moderate sea conditions expected throughout the country’s coasts and in-land seas.
