MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Wednesday declared June 24 (Monday) a special non-working holiday in the City of Manila to mark its 453rd founding anniversary.
In Proclamation No. 599, signed June 19, Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin cited the need to allow Manila residents to celebrate the holiday.
“I, Lucas P. Bersamin, Executive Secretary, by authority of the President, Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., do hereby declare Monday, 24 June 2024, a special (non-working) day in the City of Manila,” said Bersamin.
Bersamin said Manileños must be “given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration.”
