Motorists using the Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway (Cavitex) Project will be enjoying toll-free access for 30 days鈥攁 move President Marcos hopes will ease the impact of rising fuel prices on motorists.

鈥淲ith all of these, we are creating a nation where Filipinos may easily access and traverse our communities and have a comfortable and productive time as they do it,鈥 he said.

Marcos made the remarks as he led the groundbreaking of the Cavitex-Calax Link and the Cavitex C5 Link Segment 3B and the inauguration of the Cavitex C5 Link Sucat Interchange on Friday morning.

He described these as 鈥渕ilestone projects鈥 that will 鈥渢ransform the lives of millions of Filipinos鈥 by systematically easing traffic flow in the greater Metro Manila area.

The President welcomed the Philippine Reclamation Authority鈥檚 (PRA) proposal to suspend the collection of tolls for all types of vehicles passing through the Cavitex for 30 days.

鈥淭his will introduce our new roads, expressways to those who are in need of that transport system,鈥 he said while thanking the PRA for 鈥渋ts initiative to help mitigate the impact of rising fuel costs to our motorists.鈥

Marcos added: 鈥淚 now count on our Toll Regulatory Board to ensure the immediate implementation, for the benefit of the riding and the transport public.鈥

The Cavitex C5 Link Sucat Interchange opened to the public at 6 p.m. on Friday. In a statement, the Cavitex Infrastructure Corp. said motorists may pass through the segment for free for a limited time.

The three Cavitex segments were undertaken by the Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC) in partnership with the PRA in a bid to improve connectivity and foster economic growth between Calabarzon and Metro Manila.

The Cavitex-Calax Link or CLink will span 1.3 kilometers and link MPTC鈥檚 toll road networks in the South鈥攖he Cavitex and the ongoing Cavite-Laguna Expressway. It is expected to be completed by mid-2025.

The Cavitex C5 Link Segment 3B will span 2 kilometers to connect the Cavitex in Para帽aque City and C5 Road in Taguig City. It is expected to be finished by 2025 as well.
