MANILA, Philippines 鈥� Senator Imee Marcos quashed speculations that she would run for Manila City mayor in the 2025 elections.
On Monday, Marcos clarified that she only intends to get reelected as a senator.
鈥淚 am up for reelection in May next year, and despite many rumors that I am running for Manila City and other places, magpapa re-elect lang ako (I鈥檒l just go for reelection),鈥� Marcos told reporters in an ambush interview.

She also said she is unsure if she would be included in the current administration鈥檚 slate for the 2025 midterm polls.
鈥淣akikita ko 鈥榶ung iba鈥檛-ibang slate, palagay ko magiging singkwenta ang kandidato kasi napakarami po namin. May Lakas, may [Partido Federal ng Pilipinas], marami eh. Napakarami. Kaya nalilito ako, pero tingnan natin. Mahaba-haba pa naman ang panahon,鈥� said Marcos.
