Pagasa: Cloudy, rainy Wednesday in many parts of PH

MANILA, Philippines — A cloudy and rainy Wednesday is forecast in Metro Manila and many other parts of the country on Wednesday due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) and easterlies, according to the state weather bureau.

“Makikita niyo ang mga cloud clusters dito sa Southern Luzon at maging dito din sa labas ng Philippine area of responsibility na nasa bahagi nitong axis ng tinatawag nating intertropical convergence zone, at ito ang inaasahan nating magdadala ng pag-ulan,” said Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), weather specialist Obet Badrina.

(You could see cloud clusters in Southern Luzon and even outside the Philippine area of responsibility, which is part of the axis of the Intertropical convergence zone, and we expect these to trigger rainfall.)

Aside from Metro Manila, Badrina said cloudy skies, scattered rain showers, and thunderstorms are expected in the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon), Mimaropa (Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) and Bicol region, and Western Visayas.

Central Visayas will also see cloudy skies with scattered rain showers due to the easterlies.
