MANILA, Philippines 鈥斅燭he House of Representatives has suspended work for Thursday, July 25, 2024, due to bad weather brought by Super Typhoon Carina and the southwest monsoon.
A memorandum from House Secretary General Reginald Velasco on Wednesday night said that work remains suspended as Metro Manila has been placed under a state of calamity.

鈥淭he entire Metro Manila has been placed under a state of calamity due to the flooding and continuous rains caused by Typhoon Carina. In view of this, work in the House of Representatives shall remain suspended on July 25, 2024,鈥 Velasco said in the memo.

鈥淗owever, offices with essential functions shall ensure that all services shall remain unimpeded. The House leadership shall continue to take measures to safeguard the welfare of our employees,鈥 he added.

Work at the House and the Senate was suspended on Wednesday, due to strong rains and flooding across different Metro Manila roads.聽聽Prior to this, the House suspended its session on Tuesday, still brought by the inclement weather.
Earlier, the government announced that classes at all levels and work in government offices in Metro Manila and in nearby regions of Central Luzon and Calabarzon due to the extreme weather.
