The Department of Budget and Management (DBM)says P1 billion proposed for Marcos travel in 2025 MANILA, Philippines — The proposed budget for President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr.’s travel expenses in 2025 is pegged at P1.054 billion, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) said on Thursday.

According to the DBM, the proposed allocation is P94 million, or 8 percent less than Marcos’ travel budget in 2024, which was P1.14 billion.

“Kung makikita natin dito sa proposal, siguro may mga nabawasang travel both local and foreign,” said Budget Secretary. Amenah Pangandaman in a Palace briefing.

Pangandaman, however, assured the public that despite the lesser number of travels, Marcos would still be able to maintain his objective of engaging with other nations.

“We still continue to go out, and we market the PH as [an] investment destination tuloy tuloy po ‘yan,” said Pangandaman.

“May mga napirmahan na rin pong memorandum of understanding and agreement ang Presidente, kailangan pa rin po ng follow-ups itong mga ito to ensure na makakarating talaga ‘yung investments na nakalap natin noong nagkaraang taon,” she added.

(The President has already signed memoranda of understanding and agreement, they still need follow-ups to ensure that the investments we gathered last year will actually push through.)

In total, the proposed budget for the Office of the President is P10.446 billion, including confidential funds at P2.250 billion and intelligence funds at P2.310 billion.

In total, the OP’s proposed budget for 2025 is slightly lower than 2024’s P10.645 billion.
