Bomb joke by senior citizen delays flight from Tacloban airport
MANILA, Philippines — A domestic flight from the Tacloban City airport was delayed on Friday after a senior citizen made a bomb joke, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (Caap).
Based on the initial report, a crew member was helping the elderly woman with her luggage.

She made an ill-advised joke, saying that her bag was heavy because it contained a bomb.
Caap said she was on board flight PR 2988.
“Passengers affected by the delayed flight due to a bomb joke at Tacloban airport are now boarding at 8:05 p.m.,” Caap said, adding that they received the report about the incident at 6:30 p.m.

She was barred from boarding the plane and is now in the custody of the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group.
