MANILA, Philippines — Free rides await passengers who will be affected by the “unity walk” set by supporters of the Public Transport Modernization Program (PTMP) on Monday, August 5.

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) announced this in a statement on Friday.

The LTFRB added that the agency is coordinating with local government units regarding provision of free rides.

“We respect the right of drivers and operators to free expression as enshrined in the Constitution, and we acknowledge the concerns of the transport sector,” LTFRB Chairperson Teofilo Guadiz III said, as quoted in a statement.

“We remain committed to ensuring the commuting public’s access to transportation,” he added.
