Quezon cops seize P2.1-M 'shabu' from 3 drug suspects

LUCENA CITY — Police in Quezon seized more than P2.1 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) from three alleged drug traffickers in separate operations on Sunday and Monday in Padre Burgos and Sariaya towns in Quezon province.

Quezon police chief Colonel Ledon Monte reported on Monday that operatives in Padre Burgos found 10 plastic sachets of shabu weighing 92.05 grams in the house of “King,” 41, and “Mama Sang,” 42, in Barangay Kinagunan Ibaba.

The estimated value of the seized illegal substance is P639,336, with a street market value of P1,918,008.

Police also found drug-sniffing paraphernalia and a sachet of dried marijuana leaves during the search.

Both suspects were identified as “HVI” or high-value individuals on th the local police drug watch list.

The raid was conducted based on information from villagers about their illegal drug trafficking.

In Sariaya town, “Alas,” 49, was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tumbaga 1 and yielded four sachets of meth worth P214,404.

The Quezon police are investigating the source of the illegal drugs peddled by the suspects in Padre Burgos and Sariaya.
