LEGAZPI CITY — The magnitude 5.7 earthquake recorded Monday on the sea north of Pambujan town in Northern Samar was felt in the Bicol Region.
The earthquake of tectonic origin was recorded at 11:39 a.m., according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Intensity IV was felt in Pilar town and Sorsogon City. Intensity III was felt in Legazpi City and Tabaco City in Albay, Virac town in Catanduanes, Masbate City in Masbate, and Irosin and Bulusan towns in Sorsogon.
Phivolcs said it was expecting aftershocks.
The Sorsogon Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office reminded the public to keep track of and follow advice from authorities, as the Office of Civil Defense monitors affected areas. INQ
