MANILA, Philippines — A 10-year-old boy sustained injuries after being stabbed while walking in Rizal, authorities said.
Police said the Grade 5 student was stabbed by an 18-year-old woman on Monday afternoon.

“While the victim was walking alone thereat, suspect appeared armed with a bladed weapon, suddenly stabbed the victim from behind several times,” the Police Regional Office 4 said in its report.
A 28-year-old witness said he “pacified” the suspect and sought the assistance of a barangay police officer, which led to her arrest.
The victim was rushed to the Rizal Provincial Hospital System for medical treatment.
The suspect is now under police custody.
