MANILA, Philippines — Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and four others were presented to the media at Camp Crame in Quezon City on Monday a day after they were taken into custody.
Quiboloy, along with Jackielyn Roy, Ingrid Canada, Cresente Canada and Sylvia Cemanes were presented by Interior Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr., Philippine National Police chief General Rommel Marbil, and Police Regional Office 11-Davao Director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III.
Quiboloy, clad with an orange detainee shirt, was unrecognizable as he put on shades, mask, a black scarf, and a hat bearing the mark “agila.”
The four other suspects were also wearing orange shirts while being masked up, making them indistinguishable from each other.
They did not make a statement and were excused after being presented.

Quiboloy and four others were arrested inside the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) compound in Davao City on Sunday.

“The surrender is just a formality,” Torre said in the press conference, “because at the end of the day, whether he likes it or not, the end result will ultimately be the same.”
“Bottom line [is], he has no other options but … fall into government’s hands,” he also said.

The five suspects were found to be hiding inside ACQ College Ministry inside the KJC compound, according to Torre.
On Sunday morning, Torre said some 1,000 police personnel surrounded their hideout, prompting “feelers” to come out and negotiate the surrender of Quiboloy and four others.
Standoff
The PNP then gave Quiboloy a 24-hour ultimatum to surrender, or else an “assault” would occur in the building, which would have led to a bloody end to the raid that began on August 24.
Quiboloy’s feeler asked for an extension of the ultimatum, Torre said, which they granted, leading to their surrender which marked the end of what he deemed as a “standoff.”
“I see it [as] a standoff because we know where he is,” he said.
Quiboloy and four others were later detained at the PNP custodial center in Camp Crame on Sunday night.

Quiboloy and the five co-accused face child abuse cases before the Davao City court. One of them has been under the custody of authorities since July.
Likewise, Quiboloy has standing arrest warrants for human trafficking issued by a Pasig City court.
