'Shabu' worth P6.8M seized in Rizal buy-bust

LUCENA CITY — Police arrested four “high-value” drug traffickers in a buy-bust operation on Wednesday, Sept. 11, in Taytay, Rizal province, and seized more than P6.8 million worth of shabu (crystal meth).

The Police Region 4A (PRO-4A) reported that the operatives, led by the regional Police Drug Enforcement Group busted “Oscar,” “Verly Ann,” “Sittie Aina,” and “Jesus” at 10:05 p.m. after they sold shabu to an undercover cop in a transaction in Barangay San Juan.

Authorities seized from the suspects 1,010 grams of meth worth P6,868,000 and a digital weighing scale.

The police also confiscated a Toyota Innova van believed to have been used by the suspects in their illegal drug business and two mobile phones, which will be examined for records of drug transactions.

All suspects were on the drugs watch list as high-value individuals in the local drug trade.

The Rizal police are conducting further investigations to determine the source of the illegal drugs.

All suspects are under police custody and facing charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
