MANILA, Philippines 鈥 Two to three tropical cyclones are expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) this October,聽according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Pagasa also reported that four to seven tropical cyclones may enter the PAR from October until the end of the year.

鈥淔or October, we still expect two to three tropical cyclones, for November one or two, and December one or two. For October to December we expect four to seven [tropical cyclones],鈥 Pagasa senior weather specialist Rusy Abastillas said during an online climate forum on Wednesday.
He also said the country may have zero to three tropical cyclones in the first quarter of 2025.
Nine tropical cyclones passed through the PAR so far this year 鈥 the last recorded by Pagasa was Tropical Depression Igme, which already exited the country鈥檚 boundary last September 21.
Based on the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council鈥檚 latest report, the combined effects of the southwest monsoon or habagat and tropical cyclone or depression Ferdie, Gener, Helen, and Igme have so far affected 1,473,487 individuals nationwide.
