Pagasa: Generally fair weather in most of PH October 8

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said most of the country will experience generally fair weather on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

Pagasa weather specialist Rhea Torres said they have not monitored thick cloud bands over most of the country, except for the eastern section of Luzon where rains may be expected due to the effects of the easterlies or the warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.

“The easterlies affect parts of Luzon and based on our satellite image, there are cloud bands in the eastern section of Luzon, particularly Quezon and Bicol Region. These areas may expect rains due to the effects of easterlies,” Torres said in an early morning public weather report.

“For the rest of the country, we have not seen thick cloud bands that would bring rains throughout the day, so we see generally fair weather,” she also said.

Pagasa is still monitoring a low-pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine area of responsibility, Torres added.

As of 3 a.m., the LPA was located 305 kilometers west of Coron, Palawan in the West Philippine Sea.

Torres, however, said this LPA is unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone.

No gale warnings over any seaboards nationwide were raised by Pagasa for Tuesday.
