Several areas under storm signals as Kristine nears landfall

MANILA, Philippines — Severe Tropical Storm Kristine is set to make landfall over Isabela, affecting several areas across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals, the state weather bureau reported late Wednesday.

Areas under Signal No. 2

Luzon: Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, southern Abra, Benguet, northern and central Aurora, northern Nueva Ecija, northern Tarlac, northern Zambales, Pangasinan, La Union, and central and southern Ilocos Sur.

Areas under Signal No. 1

Luzon: Ilocos Norte, the rest of Ilocos Sur, Apayao, the rest of Abra, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, the rest of Aurora, the rest of Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, the rest of Tarlac, Pampanga, the rest of Zambales, Bataan, Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Batangas, northern and central Quezon including Polillo Islands, northwestern Camarines Norte, Batanes, the rest of Quezon, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, northern mainland Palawan including Cuyo and Calamian Islands, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, and Masbate including Ticao and Burias Islands.

Visayas: Aklan, Capiz, Antique including Caluya Islands, Iloilo, Guimaras, northern Negros Occidental, northern Cebu including Bantayan and Camotes Islands, Northern Samar, Samar, Biliran, northern and eastern Eastern Samar, and northern and central Leyte.

The public is advised to continue monitoring updates and take necessary precautions as Severe Tropical Storm Kristine moves closer to Northern Luzon.
