Makati sends search and rescue teams to Bicol for disaster relief
MANILA, Philippines — The city government of Makati has dispatched search and rescue teams to the Bicol region to assist with ongoing disaster relief efforts, Mayor Abby Binay announced on Thursday.
“Makati stands in solidarity with our kababayans in the Bicol Region. We are always ready to help other localities in every way possible in times of disaster,” Binay said in a statement.
The Makati Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) has deployed 27 personnel, including technical search and rescue responders and emergency medical services teams.

The contingent has a complete set of water search and rescue equipment, including steel and rubber boats, medical supplies, high-angle rescue gear, and personal protective equipment. They also brought self-sustaining assets such as generator sets and an Urban Search and Rescue shelter.
Article continues after this advertisementAdditionally, the Makati DRRMO has provided four rescue vehicles, two basic life support ambulances, and a canter truck to aid in their operations. Stefani Tacugue, trainee
