P2-M reward up for arrest of Chinese suspect in Makati resto shooting
A P2-million reward is being offered for any information leading to the arrest of a at a restaurant in Makati City last week.
The Southern Police District (SPD) said 29-year-old Wang Dan Yu, also known as Bao Long, is wanted for shooting compatriot Liu Jiabin dead after a heated argument on Oct. 17.
“Take no action to apprehend this individual yourself as he is considered armed and dangerous. If you have any information about this person, please notify the nearest police station or contact the Makati City Police Station at 09297936525,” the SPD said in a statement on Thursday.
“All information will be kept strictly confidential,” it said.
The SPD said a Chinese businessman, whom it did not identify, was the source of the reward money.

The killing was captured in a security camera video that has since been posted on social media, showing a man shooting another across the dining table inside a private room of the restaurant.
Article continues after this advertisementAccording to the Makati police, initial investigation showed that Liu and Wang were talking about a corn and rice supply business before the shooting.
The victim, who sustained four gunshot wounds on the chest, hands and arms, was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
The suspect fled along with another Chinese, who remained unidentified.
Philippine National Police spokesperson Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo earlier said the suspect had been found to have past records of criminal activities in the Philippines and China, and that the passport of the “undesirable alien” had been canceled.
The Chinese Embassy in Manila issued calls for the suspect’s immediate arrest and said it had activated its “emergency response mechanism” to help the PNP in the investigation.
