The high tension wire was cut when a tree toppled by strong winds hit it around 11 a.m. on Wednesday. According to ILPI maintenance manager Dionesio Tano, residents in Kalapanit had advised passing drivers about the cut live wire, urging them to go slow and avoid getting near it.

Tano said the ILPI had extended P12,000 as financial assistance to the victims’ family.
