6 arrested, P15.8 million worth of drugs seized in 2 QC buy-busts

MANILA, Philippines — The Quezon City Police District Drug Enforcement Unit (QCPD DDEU) arrested six suspects and seized drugs worth a total of P15,841,000 in two related buy-bust operations.

In the first operation, officers from the DDEU and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency apprehended four suspects at a building along Aurora Boulevard in Barangay Kaunlaran, Quezon City on Tuesday afternoon, November 5.

Authorities confiscated materials worth P2.68 million, including 60 grams of high-grade marijuana (kush) worth P90,000, 400 pieces of ecstasy tablets worth P680,000, one liter of marijuana oil worth P1.2 million, and 20 pieces of liquid marijuana vape worth P30,000.

Two cell phones and one Nissan Navara pickup truck were also seized.

The suspects arrested were Arlene Ann Goco, 36; Lia Lauren Llige, 42; Daryl Sarona, 26; and Jerome Palacios, 49.

According to the QCPD, upon questioning, Goco implicated two high-value individuals.

Police then apprehended Terence Concepcion, 43, and Mohammad Villar Dana, 36, in an operation at Carlos P. Garcia Avenue near Velasquez Street in Barangay UP Campus on Wednesday afternoon, November 6.

During the second operation, the DDEU seized 1,770 grams of shabu (crystal meth) and 750 grams of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (ecstasy) worth P13,161,000 combined.

The six suspects face violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

QCPD Acting District Director Col. Melecio Buslig Jr. said, “Binabati ko ang mga operatiba ng DDEU, ganundin ang mga miyembro ng PDEA-NCR sa matagumpay na buy-bust operation na nagresulta sa pagkahuli sa mga drug suspects at pagkakumpiska ng malaking halaga ng ilegal na droga.”
