SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — As Typhoon Nika (international name: Toraji) intensified on Monday, Nov. 11, several towns in this province have taken proactive measures to ensure the safety of residents.

San Marcelino Mayor Elmer Soria has activated the Municipal and Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council for possible preemptive evacuations, especially in areas prone to landslides and flooding.

Food and non-food supplies have been stocked for evacuees.
