Pepito triggers heavy rainfall alert in various parts of PH

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued a heavy rainfall warning in various parts of the country due to Super Typhoon Pepito (international name: Man-yi).

The warning is effective until Sunday evening, the state weather bureau said in its 11 p.m. bulletin on Saturday:

Intense to torrential (more than 200 millimeters)

“Forecast rainfall may be higher in mountainous and elevated areas. Moreover, impacts in some areas maybe worsened by significant antecedent rainfall,” said Pagasa.

“The public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. Pagasa Regional Services Divisions may issue Heavy Rainfall Warnings, Rainfall/Thunderstorms Advisories, and other severe weather information specific to their areas of responsibility as appropriate,” it added.
