LUCENA CITY — Two businessmen engaged in gold trading lost P830,000 in cash, jewelry, and a motorcycle to four unidentified robbers in Antipolo City, Rizal, on Thursday, according to police reports.
The victims had arranged to meet a prospective client at a resort in Barangay Sta. Cruz around 4 p.m. The client, whom the businessmen had connected with through an online negotiation, proposed the venue for the transaction, which involved the sale of jewelry worth P530,000.
Once inside one of the resort’s rooms, three armed men—accomplices of the client—forced their way in and, at gunpoint, robbed the businessmen. The robbers took P300,000 worth of assorted jewelry and P530,000 in cash from the victims.
