Tulfo eyes Senate probe into hefty surge fees of TNVS
MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Raffy Tulfo is poised to file a resolution calling for an investigation into the high surge fee of Transportation Network Vehicle Services (TNVS).
Tulfo, who chairs the Senate panel on public services, said he already asked the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) about the matter.
According to the senator, he received many complaints from commuters against TNVS over the steep surge fees.

Tulfo said the LTFRB has started probing into the TNVS surge fee and will soon come up with a draft resolution.

Article continues after this advertisement“LTFRB will include in the said resolution their findings and all possible sanctions on violators, especially for those who failed to comply with the set fare rates for TNVS contained in their Memorandum Circular No. 2019-036,” he said.
“Asked about the sanctions on transport network companies violating fare rates, LTFRB said they could face monetary penalties, suspension, or even cancellation of their franchise in accordance with Joint Administrative Order No. 2014-01,” he added.
