More flights canceled, diverted due to Kanlaon Volcano eruption
MANILA, Philippines — More domestic flights were canceled or diverted due to the eruption of the Kanlaon Volcano in the Negros provinces, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (Caap) announced on Tuesday, Dec. 10.

Meanwhile, the following flights were diverted to the Mactan-Cebu International Airport:

“The Caap is continuously monitoring the operated airports affected by the volcanic eruption to make sure that no flights and passengers will be harmed. They are also advised to rebook flights,” Caap said on Tuesday.
Article continues after this advertisementKanlaon Volcano had an explosive eruption on Monday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported, warning that the magmatic unrest could progress to further explosive eruptions.
The eruption produced a plume rising to 3,000 meters above the volcano’s vent and drifting west-southwestward.
