MANILA, Philippines —  A 2024 Bar exam passer on Friday finally fulfilled her late father’s dream of becoming a lawyer.

Caselyn Correa shared that she was named after “case” because her father wanted her to be a lawyer.

“Sa papa ko, nasa taas na siya. Sana masaya na si papa,” said Corey in an interview with the media.

(My father is already in heaven. I hope he is happy now.)

Correa also said that she passed the Bar examinations on her third try. Initially reluctant to retake it, she found the resolve to try again, dedicating her success to her mother.

“Siya ang naging inspirasyon ko dito. Ayaw ko na sanang mag-take kaso sabi niya, hinihintay pa niya kung kailan ako magiging attorney,” Correa added.

(She is my inspiration for this. I did not want to take the exams anymore but she said she was waiting for me to become a lawyer.)

Correa was accompanied by her mother as they waited for the results of the examinations to be flashed on the LED screens inside the courtyard of the Supreme Court.

SC Associate Justice Mario Lopez announced that 3,962 out of 10,490 examinees passed the 2024 Bar examinations. This year’s passing rate is higher than last year’s 36.77 percent.
