First lady thanks ‘loyalists’ who stood by hubby during ‘lowest’ point
MANILA, Philippines — First lady Liza Araneta-Marcos on Friday thanked “loyalists” and “real friends” who she said had stood by her husband during “difficult times,” in a rare statement that revealed a period of emotional distress for the first family.
She did not elaborate as to what exactly elicited such gratitude, but the statement came less than a month after Vice President Sara Duterte, in a profanity-laced online press conference, issued a death threat against the Marcoses and Speaker Martin Romualdez.
