MANILA, Philippines — The public may continue to expect rain over several parts of the country on Sunday, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
“Shear line pa rin po ang makakaapekto dito sa Metro Manila at kalapit na lugar; asahan pa rin ang mauulap na papawirin na may kalat kalat na pagulan,” said Pagasa weather specialist Chenel Dominguez.
(The shear line will still affect Metro Manila and nearby areas; expect cloudy skies with scattered rain showers.)
“Samantala ‘yung northeast monsoon iiral pa rin sa Northern Luzon at ilang bahagi ng Central Luzon; ang shear line possible naman makaapekto sa may Legazpi,” she added.
(The northeast monsoon will persist in Northern Luzon and parts of Central Luzon, while the shear line may affect areas near Legazpi.)

Meanwhile, the intertropical convergence zone, or ITCZ will bring rain over Palawan, Eastern Visayas, and Eastern Mindanao.
The rest of Visayas and Mindanao, on the other hand, are forecast to have improving weather with chances of localized thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.
No typhoons or low pressure areas, meanwhile, are currently being monitored within and outside the Philippine area of responsibility.
Pagasa said the temperature range in key cities or areas across the country for Sunday will be:
- Metro Manila: 24 to 40 degrees Celsius
- Baguio City: 16 to 24 degrees Celsius
- Laoag City: 23 to 31 degrees Celsius
- Tuguegarao: 23 to 28 degrees Celsius
- Legazpi City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
- Puerto Princesa City: 25 to 30 degrees Celsius
- Tagaytay: 22 to 27 degrees Celsius
- Kalayaan Islands: 24 to 30 degrees Celsius
- Iloilo City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
- Cebu: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
- Tacloban City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
- Cagayan De Oro City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
- Zamboanga City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
- Davao City: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
