House leaders gave themselves a pat on the back on Monday for their 鈥渉istoric鈥� legislative productivity, resulting in the filing of 13,453 measures since 2022.
The chamber鈥檚 legislative mill output from July 25, 2022, to Dec. 27 this year saw 11,241 bills and 2,212 resolutions filed. Out of the 166 measures enacted, 73 were national laws while 93 covered local concerns.
Majority Leader Manuel Jose Dalipe of Zamboanga City said that in 178 session days, the House processed 4,760 measures, posting an average of 12 measures per plenary session.
鈥淭hese statistics underscore our collective effort to deliver results. But beyond the numbers, the true achievement lies in ensuring that the laws we pass and the inquiries we conduct directly benefit the lives of every Filipino,鈥� he said.

Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio Gonzales Jr. of Pampanga, on the other hand, said the 19th Congress had 鈥渟et a new standard for legislative excellence, not just in passing laws but in ensuring that government programs and agencies are held accountable.鈥�鈥擩EANNETTE I. ANDRADE
