Over 65,000 passengers at PH ports on New Year 2025 – PCG

The Philippine Coast Guard said 65,419 inbound and outbound passengers were at ports across the country on Jan. 1, 2025.

MANILA, Philippines — More than 65,000 passengers were monitored at ports across the country on New Year’s Day, according to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

In a report on Wednesday, the PCG said it monitored 65,419 inbound and outbound passengers from 6 a.m. to noon.

The agency said 36,094 were outbound passengers and 29,325 were inbound.

The PCG also deployed 2,967 frontline personnel in 16 Coast Guard districts that inspected 255 vessels and 699 motorized bancas.

The monitoring efforts will continue until January 3 in line with its heightened alert status to manage the influx of port passengers.
