MANILA, Philippines 鈥 Government prosecutors have wrapped up the presentation of evidence against a doctor involved in the shooting at the Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) in Quezon City.
On July 24, 2022, hours before the graduation rites in Ateneo, Dr. Chao Tiao Yumol shot dead former Lamitan City, Basilan Mayor Rosita Furigay, her executive assistant Victor Capistrano, and AdMU Security Guard Jeneven Bandiala.

Atty. Quirino Esguerra, counsel for the Furigay family, said the prosecution has presented testimonies of 28 witnesses, 17 of them have identified Yumol as the shooter.

He said Yumol鈥檚 lawyers would present five witnesses before the Quezon City Regional Trial Court on Jan. 24.
Esguerra is hopeful that the trial will be finished within the year.
鈥淲e hope that justice will be delivered,鈥 he added.
The trial was initially delayed after Yumol鈥檚 lawyers asked the court to allow a health check for him.

He was declared deemed fit to undergo trials.
Yumol, a doctor and vlogger, has accused the Furigay couple of involvement in illegal drugs.
In response, the Furigays filed a cyber-libel complaint against the doctor.
