1,200 Central Luzon cops to help secure Feast of Black Nazarene
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3), headquartered at Camp Julian Olivas in this city, will deploy around 1,200 police officers to assist in securing the Feast of the Black Nazarene in Manila on January 9.
In a statement on Tuesday, Jan. 7, PRO3 Director Brigadier General Redrico Maranan said police personnel from Central Luzon would be stationed at strategic locations, including the Quirino Grandstand for the traditional “Pahalik” and nearby areas, particularly the entry and exit points of the venue.
“The PRO3 is ready to assist the NCRPO in ensuring peace and safety during the Feast of the Black Nazarene. Our unity and active coordination are key to making this celebration orderly and secure,” Maranan said.
While no significant threats had been identified for the event, Maranan emphasized that the police are taking a proactive approach by deploying a large contingent to prevent any attempts to disrupt the peaceful conduct of the religious activities.
