LIST: Manila road closures, traffic reroutes for Traslacion 2025
MANILA, Philippines — Several roads in the City of Manila will be closed starting at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8, ahead of Thursday’s Traslacion, the traditional grand procession of the image of Jesus Nazarene.
The Manila Police District (MPD) previously announced road closures along the procession route to secure the event as millions of devotees are expected to flock to the city streets.

The following roads will be closed for the religious feast, according to the Manila Public Information Office (PIO):
- Stretch of Bonifacio Drive from Anda Circle to P. Burgos Avenue
- Katigbak Drive and South Drive (One Lane Accessible to Manila Hotel and H20 Hotel (plastic barrier)
- Stretch of Independence Road
- Stretch of Roxas Boulevard from Katigbak to United Nations Avenue
- Stretch of P. Burgos from Roxas Boulevard to Jones, McArthur and Quezon Bridge
- Stretch of Finance Road from P. Burgos Avenue to Taft Avenue
- Stretch of Ma. Orosa Street from T. M. Kalaw to P. Burgos Avenue
- Stretch of Taft Avenue from United Nations Avenue to P. Burgos Avenue
- Stretch of Romualdez Street from United Nations Avenue to Ayala Boulevard
- Stretch of Ayala Avenue from Taft Avenue to Romualdez Street
- Stretch of C. Palanca Street from P. Casal to Plaza Lacson
- Stretch of P. Casal from C. Palanca to Arlegui Street
- Stretch of Legarda Street from C. M. Recto Avenue to Arlegui Street
- Stretch of Quezon Boulevard from Fugoso Street to Quezon Bridge
- Westbound lane of España Boulevard from P. Campa to Lerma Street
Southbound vehicles are advised of the following reroutes:
Article continues after this advertisement- All vehicles travelling southbound of Mel Lopez Boulevard (R-10) going to Roxas Boulevard shall turn left to Capulong
- Street, straight to Yuseco Street to Lacson Avenue to the point of destination.
- All vehicles travelling southbound of J. Abad Santos Avenue / R. Regente going to Intramuros Area shall turn right to San
- Fernando Street, left to Madrid Street, left to Muelle Dela Industria to Binondo-Intramuros Bridge to A. Soriano Avenue to the point of destination or take Juan Luna Street, right to Muelle Dela Industria to Binondo-Intramuros Bridge.
- All vehicles travelling southbound of Rizal Avenue intending to utilize McArthur Bridge going to the south area shall turn left to C. M. Recto Avenue, left to Legarda Street to the point of destination.
- All vehicles travelling southbound of A. Mendoza Street going to Quezon Boulevard, shall turn right to Fugoso Street to Rizal Avenue to the point of destination.
- All vehicles travelling on the westbound lane of España Boulevard going to Quezon Boulevard shall turn left to N. Reyes Street to C. M. Recto Avenue, to the point of destination
Meanwhile, northbound vehicles are advised of the following reroutes:

- Avenue, straight to P. Guanzon Street to Mabini Bridge to the point of destination.
- All trucks and trailers traveling northbound of Roxas Boulevard going to Mel Lopez Boulevard (Pier Area) shall turn right to President Quirino Avenue to Mabini Bridge to the point of destination.
- All vehicles travelling northbound of Taft Avenue going to P. Burgos Avenue shall turn right to United Nationa Avenue, straight to P. Guazon Street to Mabini Bridge to the point of destination.
- All trucks and trailers travelling northbound of Osmeña Highway going to Mel Lopez Boulevard (Pier Area) shall turn right to President Quirino Avenue, to Mabini Bridge to the point of destination.
- All vehicles coming from A. Mabini Street intending to utilize T. M. Kalaw Avenue shall turn right to United Nations Avenue, straight to P. Guanzon Street to Mabini Bridge to the point of destination.
- All vehicles coming from Ma. Orosa Street intending to utilize T. M. Kalaw Avenue, shall turn right to United Nations Avenue, straight to P. Guanzon Street to Mabini Bridge to the point of destination
The Manila PIO also advised, “Closure of some streets will be in effect as the procession approaches.”
The road closures will be in effect until the celebration of the Feast of Jesus Nazarene itself on Jan. 9.

The 2025 Traslacion will traverse the same route as last year’s. It stretches 5.8 kilometers, passing through three plazas and parks, one underpass, six bridges, and 18 national and city roads.
