Shabu worth P1.1-M seized from 3 drug traffickers in Laguna, Quezon
LUCENA CITY — Three suspected big-time drug traffickers were arrested on Wednesday and Thursday (Jan. 8 and 9) in buy-bust operations in Laguna and Quezon provinces.
The operations yielded more than P1.1 million worth of shabu (crystal meth), the police said.
Police Regional Office 4A (PRO-4A) reported that anti-narcotics operatives in Lumban, Laguna arrested “Axcel” at 2:30 a.m. Thursday after he sold P40,000 worth of meth to an undercover cop in Barangay Concepcion.
Seized from the suspect were three plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 150 grams worth P1,020,000 and a digital weighing scale.
In Lucena City, Lieutenant Colonel Dennis de Guzman, city police chief, said in a report that “Pangit” and “MC”were held by drug enforcers in a sting operation in Barangay Ibabang Iyam at 3:48 p.m. on Wednesday.
Article continues after this advertisementThe suspects were found in alleged possession of four plastic sachets containing 18.56 grams of meth worth P126,208.
Article continues after this advertisementPolice tagged Axcel and Pangit as among the persons included in the police drug watch list as an HVI or high-value individual in the drug trade while MC is an identified street-level pusher.
HVI refers to financiers, traffickers, manufacturers, and importers of illegal drugs or leaders/members of drug groups.
Laguna and Quezon police are conducting further investigations to determine the source of the illegal drugs.
All suspects are under police custody and are facing complaints of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
