COTABATO CITY – A college dean, his nephew, and a village health worker and her husband were killed in separate attacks by still unidentified gunmen in Sultan Kudarat province on Thursday.

Diocesan priest Charlie Dorado Celeste, president of Notre Dame of Salaman College (NDSC) in Lebak town, Sultan Kudarat, posted on his social media page that Henry Acha Racho, 52, and his nephew, Erick James Moyet, were ambushed in Barangay Marigaeg of Kalamansig town.

“What a sad evening for Notre Dame of Salaman College, our dean of college and his nephew, our student, were shot dead on their way home,” the priest’s Facebook post reads.

Lt. Col. Joseph Galleto, Lebak police chief, said Moyet died on the spot after they were waylaid along the Kalamansig-Lebak road amid a downpour around 5:30 p.m. Both were residents of Barangay Cadiz, Kalamansig.

Residents rushed Racho to the hospital but he died about an hour later due to multiple gunshot wounds.
